Brockwell Court is a warm and welcoming home, where the team are passionate about providing a supportive and caring home for residents.  Our team have a positive culture which promotes and achieves positive outcomes for people, which is borne out by feedback and comments we receive from our regulatory inspectors families, health care professionals and residents. “I love it here, everyone is spot on. In our last inspection, the inspectors found that “People were extremely satisfied with the service and felt staff always went above and beyond in delivering the care. They described the little extras staff just did as a part of their job. Staff were passionate about providing good care outcomes and took ownership for their practice”.

We offer a vibrant activities programme with a combination of group and one to one activities and events. Everything we do is based around our current resident interests and hobbies and here is a small selection of what’s on:

  • Walk Out Wednesday – we walk into Consett for some shopping and a cuppa in a local community space,
  • Coffee morning every Thursday and competitive bingo,
  • Book Club in our cosy Activities Hub by the fire,
  • Regular Sit & Keep session, twice weekly,
  • Weekly pamper session for hair, nails and hand massage,
  • We celebrate special days and holidays, and
  • Our art gallery changes weekly showing resident arts and crafts.

Our Care at Brockwell Court Care Home

Our Care team offer a person-centred approach that is delivered through quality care, recreation and activities, and food and dining. We provide residential care for people who need help with daily tasks, and nursing care for those who have complex medical needs. We also provide both general nursing care and nursing dementia care for our residents who require it.

The daughter of one of our residents said via carehome.co.uk:  “As soon as I arrived, I was made welcome, and the support of the staff was second to nine. There is nothing too much trouble for them. The care home is clean, food is good and plenty. Staff have helped me to recover so quickly, all because of their kindness and support.”

We provide care for those who are publicly funded as well as those paying for their own care.

We support individuals with swallowing difficulties and dysphagia by providing textured modified diets to continue to eat the foods they enjoy, safely.

Enteral feeding

We support individuals who are supported with nutritional and medication needs via a PEG tube.
